Camping Wilcox Style

One of our favorite things to do as a family is go camping. Some people argue that it's not camping unless you tent camp but the trailer is the best I do. Here are some pictures from our trips.

Todd is showing off his Rpod and Emma is doing what she loves best. (Double Lake)

Double Lake had a lot of trails in the back of our campsite and the kids had fun exploring.

At double lake we had a campfire friend. A raccoon stared at us all night and would glacier over every chance he got.

This is Emma bed. We stuck in the back of the bottom bunk and trapped her in with two pillows.

Within 10 minutes of us getting to Double Lake Wesley got stuck in the mud. The lake was right behind us with a trail leading to it. We decided then and there to move campsites to one that's not on the lake.

This is at Cagle, it's on the North side of Lake Conroe. This is Emma's bike and she loved it she would always beg to sit in it.

Wesley found something besides his sister to torment.

Maddie learned how to ride her bike on this camping trip!! We took some advice from some friends that told us to take off her petals for a few days so she can learn how to balance. After a year of frustration this trick worked and she learned how to ride a bike with training wheels.

Todd and Emma had a long day.

Yes we camp with alligators!!!

We love to Dutch oven. Roast and potatoes you can't get better when you're camping!!

Family Campout

We just got back from a cub scout family camp out and we are exhausted. The kids had a great time and didn't want to leave but they fell asleep in the car on the way home. It was a big success and we had over 60 people there. Camp Strake was awesome they had an obstacle course, tee pees, rock climbing wall, a fort and a pirate ship. They even had an alligator in the pond with the pirate ship, I thought I was in Peter Pan.

Todd made a rocket that shot a bottle about 30 feet in the air, the kids loved that. We are all looking forward to the next camp out. Here are some pictures of our adventure. Thanks Melanie!!!

Mandie told me I needed to

I have been absent in the social network and Mandie told me I needed to start again. Life has been crazy since I started to home school. Any free time I had has been replaced.

The kids and I worked in the yard all day today. We put mulch and down and planted flowers. We also go an awesome fish fountain, which we love. Emma has been Emma and I don't know if I'm ready for a toddler. She is in to everything and everyone in the whole family is tired of it.

Wesley is a awesome cub scout, he has earned his bobcat and is half done at getting his wolf. He also is a great reader and love wimpy kid books and Calvin and Hobbes.

Maddie just got glasses and she looks smart. She is really great at math and loves numbers.

As for Emma I don't know if we are going to survive toddler hood.

Todd has been gone all weekend at a scout camp and he has a load of dishes to look forward to.

I am going to start up this blogging thing again so stay tuned.

You did what?

Yes we took a lonnng road trip this summer. We put over 5000 miles on our car in just over a month. While it was long we had a great time. Here is a little snippet on the road. This was actually one of the better snippets.

Deep in the heart of Oregon

We escaped the heat and drove to Oregon. We stopped in Utah and had a fun time visiting family. We then headed up to Oregon. Todd dropped us off and flew home, we are having a fun time camping and seeing the Oregon coast. We are leaving for Texas on Friday, as sad as I'm am to leave I'm looking forward to my own bed!

Kroger's Mega Sale!!

I usually don't take pictures from my shopping, coupon extravaganza but this was a great one. Four hundred dollars worth of food and I only spent $138. Plus I got $5.50 to use on my next shopping trip. The cash register wouldn't let the transaction go through because I saved so much money a manager had to come and override it. Did I say how much a love kroger's mega sales?

Another year another day at Chuck-e-Cheese

Happy Birthday Maddie!!! Yes she did it, she turned 6! And she told, "now that I'm is six I will no longer throw fits". I'll let you know how that goes. Maddie wanted to open her presents right when she woke up. She got a computer game, camera, shirts, and pjs. Later that night she had a few friends go to Chuck's with us. She said, "I've never had a birthday like this before". So I think she has a great day.

I looked in mirrow while I was driving and I saw three girls giggling. I don't know how Wesley survived.
